While Cox Internet is not offered in all of our service areas, Wyyerd still shows as the best choice for those customers who love local customer support, and a live person to speak to when you have technology needs.
See how Wyyerd compares to Cox Internet plans:
This comparison was taken on May 25, 2023. Cox speeds, prices, and offerings were found on www.cox.com. Cox Communications is in no way affiliated with Wyyerd. Any comparison data that shows “- -” in the chart indicates data could not be found from their website. We only publish data that we are able to capture and archive.
Cox’s customers may or may not receive symmetrical speeds. Receiving symmetrical speeds from Cox depends on the Cox service area and the product a Cox customer purchases. Cox’s website includes the following statements: “2 Gig is only available in certain areas of the Cox footprint served by fiber to the premises technologies” and “Cox-provided routers/gateways cannot support a download speed of more than 940 Mbps per individual device. Concurrent speed tests on multiple devices can reach a total of 2 Gbps.”
Various Cox’s promotional product offerings as of May 25, 2023 may include free equipment in Cox advertised rates. Cox may have an additional fee for Cox equipment outside of the promotional product offerings and/or depending on the product purchased.
Various Cox’s promotional product offerings as of May 25, 2023 may include unlimited data in Cox advertised rates. Cox may have an additional fee for Cox unlimited data outside of the promotional product offerings and/or depending on the product purchased. Cox’s website includes the following statement for its Gigablast product offering: “All Cox Internet plans include 1.25 TB (1,280 GB) per month of data usage. Additional Data Plans can be added for an additional monthly charge. Excess usage is $10 per additional 50 GB block, except for Unlimited Data Plan subscribers. Unused data does not roll over. For more details on data plans and data usage, see cox.com/dataspeedplans and cox.com/datausage.”
The product a customer orders from Cox will dictate whether an installation fee is charged to a Cox customer. Promotional products may or may not include an installation fee. Cox’s March 2023 Product and Pricing Guide in San Diego, CA and Phoenix, AZ state that a Cox customer may incur a $100.00 for the Internet Pro Connect or $100.00 for the Internet Panoramic Wifi Pro Connect. It appears that certain Cox product offerings waive installation fees, while other Cox product offerings include an installation fee. It also appears that if a Cox customer wants to self-install, then Cox does not charge an installation fee.
Cox’s March 2023 Product and Pricing Guide state that “advertised rates exclude taxes, surcharges, equipment, professional installation, usage-based charges (data overages, streaming subscriptions, etc.) and other fees or charges, which are subject to change.” Cox may or may not charge a customer surcharges depending on the product purchased and/or promotional product offerings.
Various Cox’s promotional product offerings as of May 25, 2023 do not require an annual contract. Outside of the promotional product offering, Cox may charge a fee to have a month-to-month contract.
