Wyyerd App™ – Enhanced Services are now LIVE!

Having an ongoing objective to provide our customers with unparalleled home Internet, Zona Wyyerd is pleased to announce the launch of two new services that will further enhance home network security and controls: ‘Enhanced Security’ (powered by ProtectIQ™) and ‘Parental & Network Controls’ (powered by ExperienceIQ™).

Home Internet is a basic utility that has had an increasingly critical role in our daily lives. With advancements in e-learning, remote work, entertainment, and more, the number of devices we connect to our home networks has proliferated and bandwidth demands seem to increase exponentially. So how can we help support associated needs and risks better?

‘Enhanced Security’ and ‘Parental & Network Controls’ are useful tools that enable customers to secure their home networks and improve visibility and control of end-user devices — all conveniently accessed from an easy-to-use mobile application.

Enhanced Security extends the security standards of Zona Wyyerd’s core network all the way to your home. With this enhanced security product, all of the connected devices at your premise are proactively protected from cyber security threats, viruses, and other malicious intrusions. Via the Wyyerd ‘My Network’ mobile app, you will be notified if a potential security threat is detected and blocked. Additionally, ‘Enhanced Security’ will:

• Proactively monitor your home’s incoming traffic and automatically block anything suspicious

• Block attempted visits to known harmful websites

• Use intrusion prevention settings to monitor, notify, and prevent activity such as hackers trying to gain access to local video content (e.g., Wi-Fi connected smart devices)

• Actively terminate data transfers before a malicious payload is delivered to any vulnerable network device

‘Parental & Network Controls’ empowers you to manage and optimize your home network for your family’s needs. After creating user/device profiles, subscribers can manage a set of rules and preferences for each of these profiles, including:

• Blocking and filtering of specific content types and applications (either via preset categories or custom filters, as desired)

• Scheduling specific times of the day during which Internet and/or application usage is limited or blocked, by individual user

• Prioritizing application groups or specific devices, customizable by time of day (e.g., set schedules so that work-related applications are prioritized during the day)

• Viewing usage for all devices, to better understand how the Internet is used in your home

‘Enhanced Security’ and ‘Parental & Network Controls’ are each available as an ongoing services for $5/month, in conjunction with Zona Wyyerd’s Managed Wi-Fi service (provided without charge for near-gig customers) and enabled via the Wyyerd ‘My Network’ mobile application. As always, there are no hidden fees and no minimum payment commitment or contract to sign.
