Wyyerd Fiber Supports Seniors During the Holidays

SURPRISE, AZ – Wyyerd Fiber, a fiber-to-the-premise Internet Services Provider with regional headquarters in Surprise, is partnering with Benevilla to support seniors this holiday season through a blanket and sock drive supported by both Wyyerd employees and Wyyerd customers. 

“One of the things we care most about at Wyyerd is supporting our local communities,” said Joseph Pesa, Wyyerd’s Arizona Director of Customer Service. “It’s been wonderful to see such strong participation in this drive, not only from our employees but also from our customers.”

Wyyerd’s drive collected approximately 400 donations of blankets and socks to be given to seniors in Benevilla’s Free Home Services program. This program offers free essential home services to older adults who may need extra help remaining independent at home, including grocery shopping, assisted transportation to essential medical appointments, “Phone Pals” wellness checks, and emergency errands. 

“Benevilla is so grateful for Wyyerd and their support for a local nonprofit,” said Joanne Thomson, Benevilla’s President/CEO. “So many of our members do not have family or friends to help them celebrate the holidays. With Wyyerd and the community, we are able to remind them they are not alone in this world, and we care for one another. Many times, our seniors are forgotten, but never with Benevilla and the help of Wyyerd!” 

Travis Nance, Wyyerd’s Arizona President and General Manager, also commented on the partnership between Benevilla and Wyyerd. “Benevilla is an outstanding organization, and we are happy to partner with them to help their seniors this holiday season. This drive has been a reminder of the warmth and generosity of the community we are so fortunate to be part of here in the West Valley.”
