While free streaming is not a completely novel idea, this quickly expanding Fox-owned company boasts the largest catalog of movies & TV shows of any AVOD (advertising-based video on demand) service at over 40,000 that are available to watch, all without the need for a monthly subscription fee. Tubi simply inserts advertisements and commercials into the content to generate revenue. Think of it as a commercialized version of Netflix without the subscription fees!
What Can You Watch on Tubi?
Tubi does not create original content. Instead, it relies on thousands of hours’ worth of content from Hollywood studios including MGM, Paramount and Lionsgate. The free streamer is adding even more new content spanning several genres, including thriller, sci-fi, horror, romance, adult animation, and Black cinema titles.
Simply click through Tubi TV and you’ll find several decent selections, including Malcolm X, Antwone Fisher, Training Day, Coraline, The Masked Singer, and Hell’s Kitchen.
Tubi features live TV channels across entertainment, news, sports, and more, including ABC News, NBC News Now, Fox, TMZ, People TV, the NFL Channel, Fox Sports, and MLB.
There’s also a fairly impressive offering of TV series and movies on Tubi Kids, including Naruto, Annie, Scooby-Doo, and Mrs. Doubtfire.
There’s no option to upgrade for a better viewing experience though. Tubi is free through and through, so if you aren’t happy with the experience as is, you will need to seek out an alternative. Fortunately, there’s no shortage of them!
