  • What is 2 GIG?
Wyyerd’s 2 Gig internet tier provides 2000 Mbps symmetrical speeds (i.e., same speed up & down) to the home. This combined 2000 Mbps is shared across all devices connected to your network. Realized speeds to a single end user-device (e.g., laptop, phone, tablet, smart home device) will depend on multiple factors including the connection type (wired vs. wireless), prevailing WiFi technology standards (for those devices connecting wirelessly), end-user device capabilities, and the number of devices simultaneously connected to your network. Wyyerd’s standard router includes multiple 1 Gbps ethernet LAN ports, meaning multiple devices (each 1 Gbps capable) could be connected directly to the router and each would enjoy the benefit of a full 1 Gbps hardwired connection – for example, 2 x 1 Gbps. Whole-Home WiFi will achieve speeds up to 1.2 Gbps. Download our free Wyyerd MyNetwork™ mobile app to test your combined speed directly from your Wyyerd router.
  • What is GIG?
Our service areas with fiber-to-the-home are equipped for Arizona’s first gigabit broadband network, powered by Zona Wyyerd. Zona Wyyerd’s fiber-to-the-home network offers Internet connection speeds up to one gigabit‑per‑second (1 Gbps, that’s equal to 1000 Mbps). What are the benefits of a gigabit Internet connection? Zona Wyyerd’s fiber-optic gigabit connection matches the fastest residential Internet service available in the United States. This means everything you do on the Internet can happen faster – you spend less time waiting on files and more time enjoying your Internet content. The gigabit connection also provides plenty of bandwidth for multiple users, so every member of your family can be enjoying all of their Internet connected devices without bogging down your network.
  • Why is my speed test slower than advertised speeds?
Possible Reasons: Upload and Download speeds recorded at speed test servers account only for file data passed between the PC and the server. They do not account for the overhead required to pass that file data. Overhead typically amounts to about 15% of the total, so if a customer has a 20Mb/s link, the download speed would optimally be 17Mb/s, a 10Mb/s link should yield about 8.5Mb/s. Each piece of the equipment in the link will have the effect of slowing the speed. This includes routers, switches, wireless access points, etc. All of these products process and buffer data as it passes through them, resulting in lower speeds. That’s basically why a speed test server in a distant city will report slower results than a local server. Home routers and switches will also slow the speed, but if working properly, should have little effect. The PC or laptop being used to test speed will also affect speed results. If the computer has a slow processor, limited memory, or has several processes running at the time of the speed test, results will be slower. If the Internet LED is not lit, the inside wire may have a poor connection, wire may be crimped, or compressed by a staple. There is also a slight possibility of radio frequency interference. Your actual speed may be affected by the capability and age of your devices, the software you are using, the server of the site you are visiting, and the overall volume of internet traffic at any given moment. Running speed tests over WiFi will produce lower speed results than over a hardline connection. You will get the most optimal speeds when your computer or other device is using a hardwired connection. Certain customer locations with legacy or incompatible equipment may experience a max speed of 960 Mbps for our 1 Gig customers.
  • Do I need a Modem?
At Zona Wyyerd, we do not use cable modems. You will only need a router.
  • Do I need a Router?
If you want to take advantage of WiFi in your home you will need a wireless router. We recommend you use Zona Wyyerd’s managed Wi-Fi service. The managed WiFi service provides you with peace of mind and lets Zona Wyyerd manage things for you – worry free! Our managed WiFi program provides you with a high grade router which we continually push security and software updates. We can access the router remotely for minor corrections or resets. If anything were to go wrong, including if the router falls off the shelf and stops working, we will repair or replace it at our cost. Click the link above for more information. ((links to managed wifi page)) If you have your own router or wish to purchase one, please make sure it is a router only. Router modem combos do not work with our fiber to the home service. If you are going to purchase a router, please be sure it is dual band router and is on the current Wi-Fi standard of 802.11ax also known as Wi-Fi 6. Our technicians will install the Zona Wyyerd router at no charge. Zona Wyyerd technicians can install your personal router for a fee. It is important to have a router that is current with technology. A majority of Internet issues reported by our customers arise from a router issue.
  • What is entailed in an indoor installation vs outdoor?
Indoor Installation: Installations require a box to be mounted on the side of the home where your existing utilities are located. Here the fiber is brought inside to one location within the home. The fiber is then connected to an indoor unit which can be desk or wall mounted. The Indoor unit will provide one hardwired connection. Outdoor Installation: Installations require a box to be mounted on the side of the home where your existing utility boxes are. We will need an existing power source for our unit. In some cases we can utilize a structured wiring panel. A router can be used to distribute the internet connection to the entire home.
  • What internet plan should I choose?
Wyyerd is NOT a streaming provider, but we DO provide the fastest fiber internet connection to the home to allow for excellent streaming. Speak with our knowledgable customer service staff to receive an accurate recommendation on what internet plan is right for your household. Call us today at (623) 455-4555.
  • What are my choices for Internet speed?
Selecting the speed you need depends largely on how you use your internet. Do you stream television content? Are there gamers in your house? How many devices are connected at one time? Devices include your tablets, PCs, television and all the cell phones that are connected to the WiFi.
  • How many devices can I connect?
You can connect unlimited devices – but the internet speed coming into your house will determine how efficiently all those devices work for you. Each device draws on your total bandwidth. For example: if you have a 100 Mbps package, all of the devices connected to your WiFi will draw on that 100 Mbps. The more devices, the more split up the WiFi pie gets. Devices include your tablets, PCs, television and all the cell phones that are connected to the WiFi.
  • How do I test my Internet speed?
You can test your speed here: Understanding Your Internet Speed Test results: Mbps: Megabits per second. You need eight megabits per second to move a one megabyte file, i.e., bits move bytes. Higher Mbps means faster transfer of files like digital photos. Download Speed: This is the maximum amount of info (in megabytes) your computer can receive from the Internet in a given second. Faster download speeds ensure smooth video and game streaming. Upload Speed: The maximum amount of info (in megabytes) that your computer can send to the Internet in a given second. Upload files, like songs and movies faster!
  • Does Wyyerd have data caps?
At Wyyerd, we do not have data caps. That means you won’t have to monitor your data usage or pay an overage fee.
  • How is Fiber to the Home installed at my house?
Connecting your home to a next generation fiber optic network may be a slightly different installation process than you’ve experienced in the past. Below is a guide to help you understand what to expect. Installation times vary depending on your home but typically take 2 – 4 hours. A fiber connection does not use a modem; instead, an Optical Network Terminal (ONT) will be installed at your home. The ONT may be installed inside your home near the structured wiring panel, or in a ground level room/home office. The ONT might also be installed on the exterior of your home, typically near the electric service panel. Our installation technician will talk with you about the option that works best for you and your home. The ONT must be installed near a grounded power outlet. For outdoor installations, a power outlet may need to be installed by a licensed electrician. Various models of the equipment are in use and may differ slightly from the images on this site.
  • Congratulations on your Fast Fiber Internet Connection!
Welcome to your brand new Wyyerd Fiber-to-home delivered internet! Your Wyyerd router is a dual-band / WiFi 6 enabled piece of equipment. Dual-band routers are routers which are capable of transmitting and receiving data using both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz frequencies, either simultaneously or one at a time. The 2.4GHz band will provide better coverage around your home, while the 5GHz will have faster speeds with a smaller range. A unified WiFi network has one SSID of the same name for both 2.4GHz & 5GHz and will automatically “band steer” behind the scenes to determine which band your device should be on. Download your copy of Wyyerd Installation FAQs
  • How do I change my SSID and Password?
You can view, manage and change settings on the Wyyerd MyNetwork™️application on your device. You can download the application on the App Store or Google Play Store.
  • My speed-test results are not reflecting my Wyyerd Internet Package.
For the most accurate results, we recommend using the bandwidth test built into the Wyyerd MyNetwork app. If you do not have access to the Wyyerd MyNetwork app, we recommend you run a speed test using a hard-line device to eliminate a possible WiFi degradation. Speed test results performed wirelessly on a 2.4GHz WiFi network will be lower than results given on the faster 5GHz WiFi network.
  • My internet is “DOWN”.
A fiber connection to your home is very reliable and rarely has any outages. Restarting your router will resolve connectivity issues you may be experiencing in your home 90% of the time. Restart your router by locating the power supply in the rear of the device, unplug the cable, count 30 seconds, and reinsert the cable. The router will boot back up with refreshed settings in just a few minutes.
  • In the rare occurrence the Optical Network Terminal (ONT) loses connectivity, please follow these simple steps:
Self-Troubleshooting: Locate the ONT Verify the ONT and router are both powered on You may need to reset a GFCI outlet to restore power Verify the fiber is securely inserted into the ONT Verify the ethernet cable is securely in place between the ONT (Ethernet port) and the router (WAN port) If you continue to have trouble, please call us at your local Wyyerd office
  • What is streaming TV?
Streaming TV is the digital distribution of television content, such as TV shows, as streaming media delivered over the internet. Streaming TV stands in contrast to dedicated terrestrial TV delivered by over-the-air (OTA) aerial systems, cable television (coaxial) or satellite TV systems. Streaming TV allows you to break free from costly cable and satellite packages by using only your internet connection to watch live TV shows & movies from your TV or any smart device that connects to the internet.
  • What streaming devices do I need?
To access your streaming content, you will need a smart device that has access to streaming services. These devices connect to your TV’s HDMI port such as a Roku Stick, Amazon Fire Stick or Apple TV. You can even use your existing smart TV, laptop, tablet and smartphone to access your streaming services.
